The Bloggess-Style Wrap-Up Without Sex and Zombies

March 20, 2011

in Naked Girl Wraps Up

Today I begin a new Sunday tradition. Each week I will wrap up other sites where my writing appears as well as writing I discovered and enjoyed. If you are thinking this is a brilliant idea, I get no credit. I am copying The Bloggess’ “Shit I Did when I wasn’t Here.” Well, except there won’t be profanity. I won’t be drunk writing. No zombies will be mentioned. And I don’t write for a sex column. Ok, so why are you reading my blog? Seriously. I will never be close to The Bloggess humor, but hopefully you will enjoy what I have to share each week. I mean, I can be funny; just not zombie-and-sex funny.

This week I started writing for another site: Sprocket Ink. If you haven’t been there yet, you need to read the two posts I wrote and then spend some time reading pieces written by the other 11 writers. It’s a news site with a funny twist.

Tuesday I wrote about a woman, a marmoset, a bra, and a machine gun. I promise I didn’t make this up.

Donald Trump is actually considering running for president. I opined on his platform, campaigning strategy, and the dream running mate for his ticket.

There are a lot of great writers on the internet who deserve a light to be shined on their talent. I hope, on some small level, I can highlight great writers’ work each Sunday.

This week, instead of highlighting various writers, I decided to focus on one: Peter DeWolf.

Peter recently wrote Hop Hop for Studio30 Plus. It is creative and funny. Enjoy!

This piece, called No Title is Worthy, is a beautifully written. I found myself returning to his site a few times this week to reread it.

Peter’s letter to his future wife on wedding planning together is laugh-out-loud funny.

Peter is a creative writer with amazing range. It is always a pleasure to read his next piece. I hope you enjoy him too. And in case my Peter Lovefest isn’t enough, he is also the Featured Writer this week at Studio30 Plus. Yeah, Peter rocks the internet and now more people will know about him.

Readers: Please share ideas for the title of my weekly wrap-up. I will feature you here next Sunday if I chose your title!

How about Sunday’s Sundries?

It’s the first thing that came to mind.

Hmmm… must think on this. I’m leaning toward something tying in your ‘un-marketing’ scheme with the nakedness… (very original, right?!)

Sunday au Naturel? Seventh Day Stripped? No…

I’ll get back to you. ;)

It is original….you work on a nakedness name for it please. Great idea!

Brandon March 21, 2011 at 4:20 pm

HA! Got it!

Sunday Expose-d (or expose…d)

Look up expose on – it’s perfect! You are advertising, un’covering’ great writers, doing an expose(with the little tick mark)—flashing, showing off… I like it! (and it fits your themes!)

"Susan Says..." March 21, 2011 at 2:30 pm

All these delightful wrap-ups mean that even less gets done around this house…..

Naked Girl in a Dress March 21, 2011 at 3:57 pm

Sorry Susan, but the writers I highlight will be worth the read!

Random Girl March 21, 2011 at 4:08 pm

This is a tough one… you are your own brand. How about
“Full Frontal” because you are putting it all out there for the world to see….your writing that is…
What did you expect from me??? lol

Before I got to “what did you expect from me,” I was thinking, “could I expect anything else from Random Girl?” That is too funny! No, I expect nothing less from you.

I was too. It showed tremendous creativity.

I like the idea of tying a nakedness theme somehow… hmmm… gotta work on that. Sunday Stripped? Sunday in the Buff?

I also like alliteration. Sunday Shlep? Shutdown Sunday? Ok, maybe alliteration isn’t the way to go.

Simple Dude, you are the third vote for something related to nakedness. I think it has to be worked into the title.

Ginger March 23, 2011 at 3:53 pm

Sunday Striptease?
Naked Wrap?

I’m never good at naming things…

I think you are onto something with Naked Wrap. Good idea!

Jacqueline March 23, 2011 at 3:56 pm

i love the nakedness thought as it makes a lot of sense but how about ‘The icing on the cake’ or ‘cherry on top’ as these are posts that people are so kindly highlighting for you and nice bonuses you have found that have enriched your life…

cherry theme could be related to the nakedness, but I am the girl that accused you for giving…..

a lot of lovin’
