I Found a Scapegoat for the DC Heatwave

No overheating for Jack Johnson

It’s 200 degrees in Washington, D.C. right now. Okay, that is a slight exaggeration, but only slight. Seriously, it was probably 90 degrees last night when I walked Lucky at 10 p.m.

I blame David Kaa for our ridiculous weather. The guy relocated to the area from Phoenix in the spring and he brought his weather with him. Thanks David. We are all suffering because of you. I am seriously thinking of digging up my lawn and just filling the yard with rocks. That’s how people in Phoenix avoid grass. It seems like a good idea right now and I am sure David will volunteer to come dig for me. Since this is all his fault.

You haven’t heard from me for a week because I have been busy with school. Shooting, editing, working on my projects for class and more. Also, I have been too focused whining about the heat and, because of the heat, I have not been inspired.

Did I mention it is hot in D.C. right now?

Oh yeah, I did.

So, the Song of the Week is a Jack Johnson song simply because Jack is a ukelele-strumming surfer and singer. The song, “From the Clouds,” I chose because of the video. In my mind he is jumping into the Pacific Ocean. The water is cold, refreshing, and a great respite from the heat. There is no significance to the song people; it’s all about the cold water in that video.

This is where I sign off on Fridays by writing “Happy Friday!”

I can’t be that happy today.

I am too cranky from the heat.

Now, wonderful readers, leave comments about how sorry you feel for me or commiserate with me if you are dealing with 200 degree weather too.

  1. Well, since we’re doing that, I blame him for the NYC heat as well! It’s 100 degrees today… and *muggy*!

  2. it is Fing hot where I am…..like so hot that I can’t even think. I would love someone to blame….

good luck with all your stuff girlfriend, you’re going to be AWESOME :)

  3. Ditto for Virginia it was a blistering 102 today, talk about uncomfortable!

  4. It was 86 degrees when I left for work at 6:30 the other morning. I decided I wanted to stay home and molest my window air conditioning unit, but was motivated by the fact we have air at the office. However, we also have a hot-flashing woman at the front desk that blasts said air. Enter my space heater under my desk. I wish I was kidding.

That said, it’s still hot, but I’ll blame it on Mother Nature’s menopausal hot flashing.

  5. Oilfield Trash

It is hot here so I know what you are going through.
