A Change in Season: Welcome Fall

The change in a season after many months of the same weather is something I look forward to with anticipation. The scenery and temperature changes. There is a shift in produce available locally and cooking changes as a result. We change what outdoor activities we do as a family. And, in fall and winter months, our pace changes; it’s much slower.

Fall and spring are my two favorite seasons to welcome so this is one of my favorite times of year. Honeycrisp apples are finally available, fall squashes are in abundance, and homemade soups and stews become our favorite meals.

Running in the cooler weather is welcomed after the oppressive heat in summer. Jackets are required for morning walks with the kids and dog. Evening fires become a regular event.

Embrace the change of the season. There’s so much to be grateful for this time of year.

Enjoy!

For Song of the Week I am sharing Nora Jones. Here’s “Sunrise.”

  1. I love the fall. Especially with the colors changing and the cooler weather. It’s one of my favorite seasons for sure!

Me too P.J. And of course we also have post season baseball!

    2. I have to be honest… I was so peeved and turned away with how the Phillies played in the playoffs that I’ve barely watched anything since then. I just have no interest at this point. :(

You missed some great games in the ALCS. Come back to baseball for the World Series. I can’t wait to see if the Rangers can do it this year!

  2. Possibly so in regard to missing good games, but I’ll have to take your word for it. I won’t be coming back to baseball until Spring Training. I just had a bad taste this year. Especially because the Cardinals are in the World Series.

I understand. Hang in there. Spring Training is around the corner. Well, not really, but it was a nice sentiment. :)

  3. Fall is definitely my favorite season, I absolutely love running colder weather!! And I love that Norah Jones song. Happy Friday indeed!

Oh, I suppose it also helps that when fall comes, so does my favorite candy- the candy corn pumpkins
