“It’s not what I planned, but it’s perfect anyway.”
This is the message that comes through clearly in Kim’s writing at Rubber Chicken Maddness. No one wants to divorce, raising two kids on their own, but it can be a wonderful life with the right attitude and a liberal sprinkling of humor. Kim is a single mom of two really great boys, has a busy career, and a neurotic dog. She has abandoned the idea of perfection and is embracing her life as it is.
What resonates in her writing, and why I have chosen to write about her for Blogs to Bookmark this week, is that she is happy and grateful for all she has in her life. There is a positive message that permeates throughout her writing.
You have to begin getting to know Kim by understanding why her blog is called Rubber Chicken Madness. It’s a must-read first stop on your tour of her blog.
In “Perfect Just the Way They Are” Kim teaches us that shaking perfection is an ongoing battle; we must be ever-mindful of the need to let go and expect less than perfect in our lives and the people we love. And sometimes, our idea of perfection is not the best result for a given situation.
Anyone who lives a life without regrets is a kindred spirit to me. I loved reading Kim’s thoughts on marriage and divorce.
Kim also has dating adventures, which she shares on her blog. She gave great advice for men in one of her posts (it’s good for women too).
Kim is a warm, funny, writer with whom you will bond with immediately through the stories she shares. Her blog is a well-written account of one single mom who has it figured out. She might disagree with that statement, but the fact that she is embracing imperfection is proof she is on the right path to happiness.
Please stop by Kim’s blog. Meet her boys, crazy dog, and Cuddly the rubber chicken.
