Happy Fake Thanksgiving

Happy ThanksgivingSean and I do not have our children for Thanksgiving this year. Since it is Sean’s favorite holiday, we decided to have a Thanksgiving dinner early with our kids. We will still be spending the real holiday with friends and family so yesterday’s dinner was a bonus for us all. It also gave us an extra day to focus on being thankful.

Here are a few things I was thankful for on Fake Thanksgiving:

  • The mutual friend who took a chance playing matchmaker by introducing me to Sean.
  • Our five wonderful children and a bonus young woman who is dating Sean’s oldest son.
  • Having my mother finally meet this special man in my life.
  • Gluten-free pumpkin pie.

What are you thankful for today?

  1. Sean:

I’m thankful for my amazing kids. I’m thankful for loving friends in my life. I’m thankful for a new relationship with a brilliant woman who enriches my life every day. I’m thankful for the delicious meals I get to cook or help cook with my girlfriend. I’m thankful for Thanksgivings, whether they’re called fake or not. Thanks Kelly for this post!

They bring so much to our lives, don’t they? Joy, wisdom, a new perspective.

I am moving towards a blended family with five kids. You give me hope that it can work.

Oh, that’s wonderful news Matthew! Best of luck as you work towards blending a new family. Sean and I are blessed with kids who genuinely like each other as well as the new adult in their lives. We are a happy “family.”
