Love, Hope, and Faith

Be GratefulConsumer-focused Black Friday is looming, and threatening to take the spotlight off Thanksgiving. Many retailers are opening on the holiday this year, which to me is sad. I refuse to shop Friday, planning to spend another family-focused day together instead. Thankfully, others are also thinking of more important needs than those that are found at toy and giant box stores. My friend, Alycia Neighbours,  posed the following question yesterday:

“So we know that we NEED food, water and shelter. What else do you think we NEED in this life?”

To this question I responded by saying I need love, hope, and faith, which I have an over-abundance of in my life.

For this, today, I am thankful.

What are you grateful for today?

{This is part of a one-week series on giving thanks.}

      Have a wonderful Thanksgiving, Kath!

  1. I am thankful for so many things today and this year, too many to list. Guess I’m pretty lucky :)

    I don’t do Black Friday shopping. Cyber Monday *maybe* but the whole commericalism thing is what tends to make me more “bah humbug” than not this time of year.

      I worked on shopping for the kids earlier this week with the help of Amazon. I am going to try to completely avoid stores and cranky shoppers this year. It will really add to my holiday experience! So happy life is going well for you, Sean. I always love to know my friends are happy. :)

  2. My blessings are currently too many to count and for that being a fact, I am thankful! Have a wonderful holiday with your loves!

      I hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving as well, RG! I am happy you are in a great place in your life.

  3. Our extended family arrived today for the holiday. It’s my favorite day because it’s only about family, shared memories and talking…all day long. I have never, will never, shop on Black Friday. It’s still family time. I will not acknowledge the next season until this one is properly celebrated. If our basic needs are satisfied and we have people we love who love us back, that’s all we really need. Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family. Thank you for the thoughts today.
