Today I feel exactly as I did on December 11, 2009: day 364 of the separation. On that day I was filled with dread and anxiety as the one-year mark for the separation approached. I wanted the day to come and go as quickly as possible.

Tomorrow is another big day looming in my future. The day is fast-approaching whether I like it or not.

Tomorrow is my 20 year wedding anniversary.

I am not filled with as much trepidation as I was on the eve of the one year separation date. I learned and am stronger from that experience. December 11, 2009 came and then passed. There were the same number of hours in that day as every other day. The same is true for tomorrow.

It is for me to decide if I will enjoy it or endure it.

The choice is up to me.

This week I am writing a special series as a result of this big milestone in my life. The next four days will be filled with reflecting on gifts in life, how to look at endings as beginnings, understanding life can start anew at any age, to share and be inspired by others, and more.

I hope you will join me on the journey this week.

Come reflect, learn, and grow with me.
