It looks like another great DC winter.

Longtime readers know that I am always looking for the positive in life. Gratitude is important to me. As someone who is active and enjoys running outdoors year-round, it has been hard to find the positive lately. My iPhone has delivered bad news each morning. For example, “18 degrees, feels like 2 degrees, 40 mph wind gusts.” Yeah, I won’t be running in that weather.

As Washingtonians continue to deal with an Arctic blast and I continue to count the days since I last ran outside, I thought I would come up with a list of  benefits to the weather:

  1. The kids and I have spent many nights curled up by the fire reading and playing games.
  2. I have been too cold to go to malls so I shopped for Christmas online, which has been convenient and easy.

Since I was able to actually name 10 blessings as a result of my divorce, I should be able to do better than this short list. But I can’t.

As the cold weather continues, I thought this song, a duet by Dean Martin and Doris Day, would be appropriate for the Song of the Week. It is one of my favorite songs on my Christmas playlist. I have shared a lot about myself writing on my blog this year, but I have not shared my love of romantic comedies from the 50’s and 60’s. I am a sucker for any movie with Rock Hudson, Cary Grant, Dean Martin, or Doris Day, which is probably why I like the song so much.

Stay warm this weekend.

Happy Friday!
