This week I have been busy preparing for an invasion. No, Judgement Day is not coming soon; it is still scheduled for October 21st. This has nothing to do with zombies or aliens either. This invasion is about writers taking over my blog. I have nurtured and cared for my baby blog for over a year. After all the love and hard work I have invested, it will be hijacked this summer by other writers. And the scary part? I have told them I will publish whatever they submit. No rules. No guidelines. Complete freedom.
I can’t wait to read what is turned in to be published and I am excited to share great writers with my readers this summer. There will be men and women who write on a variety of topics participating.
The whole write-whatever-you-want thing is keeping me up at night, but I am sure I will get through this. It might require me to ingest fistfuls of Xanax as I hit publish on some of the posts, but I think it will be entertaining for all (at the expense of my mental health, but who cares, right?).
Look for guest writers each Wednesday this summer (beginning on July 6th). Until then I will be breathing deeply and working on finding my happy place as I await the invasion.
Ooooh…how fun! Looks like I hopped on board at just the right time. Can’t wait to see who turns up.

I’m with Melissa in that I think it’s very cool, but that I would also need a Valium salt lick to get through it. I have only put up two guest posts in two years because it scares the crap out of me, even if they’re extremely talented.
I also think it’s a great way to let go of some of that control and have some fun 🙂 Hopefully you’re doing some invasions in return!

I am glad I am not the only one who thinks this is a crazy idea (and that medication might be required)! It should be fun in a terrifying kind of way. One guy I asked might be the sole reason for a breakdown this summer. He is known for mischief.

I have been debating on if I should open up some space on my blog for guest bloggers, first it would give a nice change in pace/style etc plus currently the project I am working on is getting close to the major handover date so time for blogging is scarce and hence guest blogger will help keep my blog output flowing. On the negative side what if I don’t like what they write, I couldn’t refuse to publish once I had asked them to contribute.

I would recommend guest bloggers to help you get through the busy time at work. It will help you with your output, but also bring you new readers (guest writer’s readers). It also helps you to promote bloggers friends, which is great. I think it will be fine with what they write.
So far I have 4 writers lined up and have read one submission; it is terrific.
