I have always thought the coolest job in the world is a position as a Google doodler.
What’s that? You don’t know what a doodler is?
I will explain.
A team of artists who create Google doodles for the homepage have the official title of doodlers. These doodlers get to work for a great company and get paid to make artwork with the word “Google” in it. Seriously. Fun. Job.
The designs commemorating a holiday, birthday, anniversaries, and more are always a fun distraction from writing thing to discover when the Google page pops up for internet searches. Yesterday I loved discovering the doodle was part of a Doodle 4 Google children’s contest. Instead of writing I searched Google to see the other entries. So many talented children participated!
Here’s the winning design:
This was submitted by Dylan Hoffman–a second grader! This young man had his design featured on Google for the day, was awarded a $30,000 college scholarship, a Chromebook, and a $50,000 technology grant for his elementary school in Wisconsin.
I love Google just a little more for their generosity and inspiring this young man. Maybe he will grow up to be a professional doodler. Wait, I think he already got to check that box at the age of 7.

I agree with that being one of the coolest jobs out there. I thought the Jim Henson doodle was one of the best (and most distracting) ones so far.
Did you know your doodle even changes on your Google homepage just for your birthday? I didn’t until my birthday the other day.
Now I have to google “Jim Henson doodle” instead of write my post. Thanks Vinny.

That’s really a fun & creative job. I’m working as a graphic designer for a while. Do you know how can I submit my work for Google doodle? Congrats to Dylan. He did a great job.
Maybe google how to submit? I don’t know so that’s my advice.
Hmmmm, if I tell my resident artist about this she will go nuts and start sending her stuff in to Google. They might never forgive me and when I go to search all I’ll get is the link to a farm and feed store in Iowa.
Now that wouldn’t be good!
I would love it if Google expanded the age bracket for doodle submissions! I would totally submit my entry! hee hee! Now I want to be a professional doodler! 🙂
My submission would be an embarrassment. My kids surpassed my drawing abilities in Kindergarten!
