We have a canvas wall hanging in our home with a listing of our family rules. It has become a go-to place in the house to remember what the expectations are, not just at home, but how we are each expected to conduct ourselves in our lives. It is simple, but perfect for us.
Family Rules
Keep your promises.
Share.
Think of others before yourself.
Say “I love you.”
Listen to your parents.
Do your best.
Say please and thank you.
Always tell the truth.
Laugh at yourself.
Hug often.
Use kind words.
Love each other.
Do you have family rules?
Is anything different from our list?

Love them. Very simple but meaningful.
Thanks Dee!
The first rule of Fight Club is we don’t talk about Fight Club…
Wait! That’s not right.
Your rules are better.
THIS comment is reason #372 of why I love you Vinny.
Did you have any idea Fight Club is one of my all-time favorite movies?
So awesome you shared this!
I printed this list. Plan to hang it on the fridge and see which boy brings it up first :)
I am so happy this list resonated for you. I simply love it.
Ah, family rules. How I wish we had some. As it is, I think “Do what I tell you, as soon as I tell you” is as far as it goes.
Gosh, I’m a horrible parent.
You? A horrible parent? I don’t think so! Come back tomorrow to see me ‘out’ myself as a horrible parent. It should be entertaining. Or horrifying. We will see.
