How to Maintain a Successful Relationship in a Hectic Life

busyWork, kids, household chores and projects, meal planning and prep, kids’ activities, exercise, and more is squeezed into each week. Somehow, through it all, we also need to find time to focus on maintaining a solid relationship with our spouse or partner. And yet, there are only 24 hours in each day. It seems daunting, but it’s not. Many of the aforementioned responsibilities can be managed with a good organizational system. As for the relationship work, small gestures lead to great success in maintaining a healthy and loving relationship.

Last week I wrote an article for Jungle of Life entitled, “10 Ideas to Stay Connected to Your Partner.” The premise behind my piece is that being mindful daily and making an effort, no matter how small, will lead to maintaining a more successful relationship. The inspiration for the article came from my own relationship challenge last Thursday: feeling disconnected from Sean as a result of all the responsibilities we faced last week. I wrote the post, and then reached out to Sean to schedule special “date night” time at home once the kids were in bed. It was a wonderful evening, and segued into a great weekend.

Being the relationship writer at Jungle of Life is an enjoyable writing project each month. I hope you will follow the link to read the post, and peruse the site to discover the other staff writers as well.

  1. You know, I think the health of our bodies is really important. If we’re not healthy, then we cna’t help or do anything for anyone else. But after that, our relationships are the most importnat. When my wife and I get to up in our own business, it shows. And it sucks. I agree dude, doing little thigns and paying attention to eachother is important!

Having a solid relationship is fun in the good times and a life line in the bad. I am glad you have that with your wife, TB.
